Assignment 1 - DepicT!: Feedback - 20 Dec 2015
Dale,
some very good pre-production paperwork has been generated for this media project and it is clear you have adhered closely to the process and documented / made changes as the process has developed. Well done, a well organised media project.
There are some pre-production paperwork elements missing and you should review this.
Your pre-production process write-up is effective and you have comprehensively explained and presented to professional standards sources of requirements for a media production.
Good work - Keep it up!
Carl.

DepicT!

A TV Movie
I think that this 90 second film was very good at showing how there is more to life than television and how the human race are becoming couch potatoes. We see at the end of the clip that the TV results to looking outside, this shows what we are missing by focusing more on technology than nature. The animation that is used is presumably stop motion, this looks realistic and the producer clearly used many close ups to show the televisions struggle. The audience this is aimed at I believe is for children.

The Date
This 51 second clip had an amazing plot twist moment that was very unexpected to the audience's eyes. It did not have a clear message but it was a very enjoyable 51 second clip. I believe that they used a green screen to create the background and computer generated images (CGI) when creating the dinosaur which surprisingly appears. At one point a shot-reverse-shot was used, this shows the awkwardness of how the date is going as we see both of the main characters looking rather uncomfortable. The audience I believe this is being aimed at is those who enjoy a twist in the plot. As this is a very unique style of film with a variety of different film aspects merged into it, it makes it a very enjoyable style of film.

The Perfect House Guest
This fun and I suppose you could say cute... clip shows the adventure of a small mouse whom clears and perfects the house in which he is staying in. Straightening up photographs and sweeping the table this little mouse makes the audience go through an "aw" moment. This is an animation based film, although some aspects such as the props and the photo frames look very realistic. They use a lot of wide shots throughout to show the size of the scale of the mouse compared to the size of the human house. The target audience for this footage would presumably be a younger audience as it has childish qualities to it.
